The idea for Eace Vitamin Boost?

The simple idea of ​​a chewing gum with vitamins was the starting point for everything Eace Gum is today. We can actually thank co-founder Asbjørn Dencker's mother for that. The idea came about because she has great difficulty swallowing pills: " I have several experiences as a child where I feared for my mother's life because she had a pill stuck in the wrong way in her throat and spoke like Darth Vader ," says Asbjørn Dencker. Later he found out that it wasn't just his mother who had problems swallowing pills - in fact, it's as much as 40% of the Danish population who either don't like or have difficulty swallowing pills.

With that in mind, Asbjørn wanted to find out if there wasn't a smarter way to deliver these nutrients - here chewing gum, due to its convenience, quickly came into the picture.

So what do you do when you have the idea?

Shortly after the idea popped up, Asbjørn started calling chewing gum factories at home and abroad to ask if there was anyone who could make chewing gum with vitamins. For a long time, the only thing he heard was: "no, we can't".

Normal chewing gum is actually produced under high pressure and high heat, which 'kills' vitamins and makes them inactive. In other words - they do not work and do not have the desired effect. After a long search, Asbjørn found a Danish pharma factory that had the technology to make a chewing gum with vitamins, and that was the starting point for a strong collaboration. Eace Vitamin Boost is produced with a cold and dry technique that ensures that the nutrients remain active.

A long process

But it is not 'just like that' to get a product on the market. After years of work and various approvals and registrations, Eace Gum was finally ready to launch their first product. But before you can launch a chewing gum, you need to have some stores to sell the products in. The first stores that came on were Matas and 7-Eleven, where Eace Gum launched in May 2020 - in the middle of the corona crisis.

Much water has flowed through the stream since then. Among other things, a participation in Løvens Hule, two new products: Energy Boost and Healthy Teeth and an investment from Scandinavia's largest food group, the giant Orkla. Today, Eace Gum is sold in more than 1,800 stores in four countries.

Eace Vitamin Boost facts

Eace Vitamin Boost contains 10 essential vitamins: C, D, E, K, B1, B3, B6, B7, B9, B12.

One chewing gum contains 25% of the recommended reference intake of the vitamins. So 25% of what you need in a day.

We recommend 1-5 pieces daily and that you chew for a minimum of 5 minutes to get the most out of the vitamin supplement. After 15 minutes, all the vitamins in the chewing gum are released.

The chewing gum has a lovely fresh taste of mint, and the taste lasts a very long time, if we do say so ourselves.

Why chew your vitamins?

Apart from the fact that it is convenient and tastes good, there are actually even more good reasons to chew your vitamins. When you chew, the body gets ready to receive nutrients and the body is thus ready to absorb vitamins when they are released through chewing gum. It is always good to take vitamins in connection with a meal - fat-soluble vitamins are better utilized if they are consumed together with fat or fatty acids.

What do vitamins do in the body?

Vitamins are active nutrients that the body knows and uses in various processes. In Eace Gum products, we generally only use nutrients whose properties are approved by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and/or where there are scientific studies that demonstrate their effect. In addition, the products have been tested with both stability studies, chewing tests and the nutrients for bioavailability.

The vitamins in Vitamin Boost contribute, among other things, to the maintenance of the immune system, maintenance of the skin and hair and reduce fatigue and exhaustion.
